One Heart One World: Yoga and Meditation Retreat Cup Weekend 3-7 November 2017

with Anahata Giri at Maitripa, Healesville, Victoria

A retreat gives us the space to receive the extraordinary gifts that are waiting for us in our practice. We will explore practice as a deep, sensing, listening way of being so we can deeply attune to our inner wisdom. Embracing the felt sense of the body gives us a clear foundation to stand in our own truth. Embracing the insights of our emotions gives us emotional resilience and empowerment. Listening to body, heart and mind enables us to be fully available in our relationships, our work and our lives. Then our practice becomes our way of living – and Life becomes our practice.
We will explore a range of practices including yoga asana, mindful movement, sitting and walking meditation, yoga nidra and sound practices, all infused with teachings from the wisdom traditions. We will explore yoga poses as ways of being, rather than forms to achieve. Experienced yogis will find their practice enlivened as we explore deep alignment principles, human movement patterns and the somatic intelligence of our bodies. We will explore meditation sitting, walking, lying down and in meditative movement, to fully enliven the felt sense of the body. The wisdom teachings from the hatha yoga, bhakti and non-dual traditions will give a context for our practice, and will be skilfully applied to our contemporary living.
What is your deepest calling? What is your next step?
Paradoxically, as we rest in the silence of our own being, our inner voice becomes clearer and our deepest life can unfold. Of course we all have times of pain and confusion. This retreat will be a special opportunity to listen deeply to ourselves, just as we are. From this deep listening, our deepest path can emerge. Imagine living a meaningful, fulfilling life, integrating your emotional exploration, with your experiential awakening, with your work in the world. We will use the springboard of deep practice, times of silence and contemplation and the inspiring teachings of yoga to renew your direction and your gift to this world.
What is your love song to the world?
This retreat is ideal for those who have some yoga experience and want to integrate their inner practice with their work in the world. Yoga students, activists, community development workers, social workers, teachers, psychologists – all those who want to create a better world, from all walks of life – are welcomed.
Care will be taken to create a supportive environment for your practice. One to one support with Anahata is offered. Practising with like-minded travellers is deeply inspiring for our inner journey. Each participant has their own room and there will be delicious and nourishing catering offered.
Most of the retreat will be held in silence. Silence creates a deep and steady container for your inner journey and is offered as a deeply nourishing foundation for this retreat. Sessions will be guided with words.
The Retreat is especially suitable for those wanting to deepen their practice or teaching of yoga and meditation. It is also suitable for those who are newer to practice. Places are limited to 22 participants so please book early.
