Classes will begin and finish on time so please arrive on time wherever possible. If you are late, please enter the class quietly. You are welcome to arrive up to 10 minutes before the class to relax and prepare for you class in your own way.
Please keep conversation to a minimum when there are students practising before a class.
Remember to turn off your mobile phone before your class, to reduce radiation and disturbance in our practice space.
Please let your teacher know of any injury or condition that may affect your current practice.
Please maintain quiet in the nearby WellBeing wing and toilets as wellbeing sessions may be in progress.
For first time students:
Please arrive 10 minutes early to fill in a registration form. If you have any health issues please allow extra time so the teacher can guide you on how to practise safely and effectively.

What is the intro offer for new students?
We have an intro offer for new students to One Heart: $30 for unlimited casual yoga classes over 10 consecutive days. It starts from the date of the first time you visit One Heart and is an opportunity to see which classes suit you.
What are the prices of yoga classes at One Heart?

What class should I go to if I am a complete beginner at yoga?
If you are completely new you are welcome to attend one of our 8 week Beginners yoga courses that provide a systematic foundation exploring yoga postures, breathing and meditation practices. Beginners Courses are run regularly throughout the year – please enquire for further details. If you are unable to attend a Beginners Course, then you can try and Integrated Yoga class – just let the teacher know you are new to yoga.
What if I have done a little yoga, or I am not very flexible/fit/strong, or rusty, which class would be best for me?
You can either do a Beginners’ Yoga Course to brush up your yoga skills – or try an integrated yoga class. Remember, we do yoga to improve our flexibility and strength – you do not need to be flexible or strong before you begin yoga! Being rusty simply means you need to be more mindful as you practice. Our teachers are very supportive of all levels of experience and will give stages and alternatives to postures so you can adapt postures to suit you.
What style of yoga is practised at One Heart?
“Just yoga.” We practise a traditional and integrated yoga adapted for the contemporary lifestyle that includes postures, both flowing and held, breathing, chanting, relaxation and meditation. We do not teach one ‘style’ - many of the styles of contemporary yoga are brands and reflect the commercialisation of yoga. We have an active yet spacious and mindful approach as we believe that a moderate, sustained, regular practice will build strength, flexibility and bring integration to body, mind, heart and spirit.
What do I wear for my yoga class?
Wear whatever you are comfortable to move around in. This might be yoga pants, tracksuit pants, shorts, loose cotton pants and so on. It is a good idea to dress in layers so that you can layer off as the body warms, or layer on as the body cools during final relaxation. We work in barefoot. Please remove watches and bulky jewellery.
Do I need to bring a mat?
Mats and other props are supplied so you do not need to bring anything. Some people prefer to use their own mats as this is more hygienic. You are welcome to store your mat at the studio – we have a storage section set aside for personal yoga mats. We sell high quality, recycled rubber mats that are environmentally sound and really grippy – they are fantastic mats. Enquire for more details.
Do I need to book for a casual class?
No, you don’t need to book for a casual class, you can simply just turn up. Booking is only needed for courses and workshops.
How do I make my payment for casual classes?
Please buy all your class passes, courses, single classes online. We are cash only at the studio.
Can I eat before a yoga class?
It is best not to eat for about 2 hours before your yoga class. This will make your practice more comfortable and more beneficial. The exception to this is that a small snack may be beneficial before your yoga class for pregnant women and for those with specific health conditions. It is best to be well hydrated during the day before your yoga class so that you do not need to drink during your class – and then you can drink once your class is over. If however you feel thirsty during a class then please drink water. We provide filtered water or you can bring your own water bottle.
What if I have an injury or condition, what class should I come to?
There are several options here, dependant on individual circumstances. You are welcome to attend the Integrated yoga classor do the beginners yoga course – but please let the teacher know you have a specific health issue so they can guide you with how to practice. If you have an acute injury you can try a gentler class such as meditation or restorative yoga or enquire about our one-to-one yoga therapy sessions.
